Homosexuality
Biblical teaching on homosexuality has fallen by the wayside in exchange for what can only be termed as a "Politically-Correct" version of a "Kinder and Gentler" gospel which is now being preached from most of the pulpits in this land. In some quarters alleged (Heavy on the "Alleged") men of God (who should be able to read the truth in black in white from God's word) embrace openly practicing homosexuals as brothers and sisters in Christ. Some sanction same sex unions and others even advocate ordaining them to preach! One of the chief arguments of these false teachers and preachers is that the church needs to be more "Tolerant" and that those who truly love God have a depth and breadth of understanding that reveals to them that God is about a "Love" that transcends Biblical sexual stereotypes. That is a LIE that will ultimately bring judgment on the nation that tolerates it. We can see this from the Biblical record (Genesis 13:13, Psalm 9:17, Romans 1:29-32).
True Biblical love consists of our obedience to God and His Word. Love of God is NOT consorting nor providing aid and comfort to those who are disobedient to and reject God's Word. Love of God is NOT about feelings and emotions, it is NOT about romanticism. True love of God is obedience to God's Word. "Jesus answered and said unto him, IF A MAN LOVE ME, HE WILL KEEP MY WORDS: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him" (John 14:23);"For THIS IS THE LOVE OF GOD, THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: and his commandments are not grievous" (1 John 5:3).
On our nations political scene, one need only look around and we can find those supporting and advancing what God calls an "Abomination" from the steps of the White House to the steps of the schoolhouse. Our country has even sunk so low as to pass special laws and amendments which attempt to place a stamp of government approval on this perverted lifestyle. God has a message for each of these Godless politicians who reject the truth of His word. That message is - You are capable of passing laws legalizing homosexuality, but in my eyes it will ALWAYSbeSIN. Somehow, man has forgotten that God is the authority that declares and defines sin, not man, the courts, the ACLU or politicians and lawyers. God is the ONLY one who can define sin. In Sodom the act of sodomy was legal but God still rained judgment on the city and ALL of it's inhabitants (practiciners of sodomy as well as those who did not). God can likewise punish America for tolerating this abomination! You may embrace this perversion as an "Alternative" lifestyle - but God declares it SIN in the strongest terms!
Each of us as free thinking individuals can choose to ignore the Biblical truth concerning homosexuality, but we need not be deceived into thinking that our "Sticking our head in the sand" will prevent it's practice from suffering the wrath of God that is promised to come. I even heard one humanist preacher argue that because laws were passed making homosexuality legal in some locales,that we are to submit to them. He argued this quoting, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation." - Ro 13:1,2. This is a twisted application of scripture, the same scriptures which clearly and in no uncertain terms condemn homosexuality in the strongest terms! I will not agree that God's word teaches that we are to accept or approve of the perversion of homosexuality. I will not agree that Romans 13:1, 2 instructs me to ignore the many clear teachings of God condemning this act as sin. Those who subscribe to that view should review Acts 5:29, "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." and the many scriptures that follow as they relate to homosexuality:
Genesis 13:13 | "But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly." | Sodomy is one of the gravest sins because it speaks to the depths of moral depravity to which men can lower themselves. It can be best compared to one skydiving without a parachute. All parties consenting to such acts are making a conscious decision to compromise the truths of God's word in lieu of a moment of perverse pleasure. |
Psalm 9:17 | "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." | America today, with it's wickedness and disobedience to the word of God stands upon the brink of judgment. Tolerance of homosexuality and rejection of God will pave the way to our destruction. |
Romans 1:22 | "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools," | Long ago the laws of this land were based upon Biblical principles. Today, perverted by humanism and a distaste for truth we have become as fools, buying into the lie that homosexuality is an "Alternative lifestyle". It is SIN - plain and simple. |
Genesis 18:20,21 | "And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know." | Here God declares the grievous nature of the sin of sodomy to Abraham. |
Genesis 19:4,5 | "But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them." | Here we see how the sin of sodomy had thoroughly polluted Sodom and Gomorrah. They even wanted to sodomize angels! This same corrupt mindset pervades our country today. |
Ezekiel 16:50 | "And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good." | Speaking of Sodom, God proclaimed that they committed an abomination (and that He punished them for it)! |
Leviticus 20:13 | "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." | Homosexuality is condemned as "an abomination" with the punishment for such an offense affixed at death. Sodomites were to be put to death in Israel by order of God. |
Lamentations 4:6 | "For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her." | Again, speaking of Sodom, God pronounced that they had committed sin (and were overthrown for it)! |
Romans 1:24 | "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves" | Here we see God give Homosexuals and Lesbians up to the consequences of their sin. The awful moral degradation of our culture today is comparable. |
Romans 1:26,27 | "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." | Here we see God abandon the Sodomites to their own course. This demonstrates the depths to which men will fall without God. Sodomy destroys lives, marriages, homes, churches, nations, and virtually everything that it comes in contact with. Marriage is God's established order, which consists of one man and one woman married for life. |
Isaiah 3:9 | "The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves." | Today, Sodomites are declaring their sin as Sodom. Gay (Sodomite males) and lesbian (Sodomite females) activists seek to promote their SIN as a preferred lifestyle. |
Romans 1:29-32 | "Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." | Here the characteristics of those who are given over to a reprobate mind are detailed. Sodomites are included in this description. |
Ephesians 5: 12 | "For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret." | In the works of darkness are many secret sins, some too shameful even to be named (such as sodomy). Yet God sees and will ultimately judge all. |
Romans 1:28 | "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;" | Those who choose to turn from the truth will be allowed to have their way, falling deeper and deeper into error, and will in the end reap the consequences of loving darkness rather than light. Sodomites are just one of many who hate the truth and are "given over to a reprobate mind" and rejected of God. |
I Corinthians 6:9-11 | "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." | Here we are told that the "Effeminate" and "Abusers of themselves with mankind" will NOT inherit the kingdom of God. These two terms refer to shameful crimes committed by the Sodomites. First, submitting themselves to foul sensuality, and the second actively "abusing themselves with men", contrary to nature (Both refer to homosexual conduct). NO unrepentant practicioners of this conduct can be an heir of heaven. |
Leviticus 18:22 | Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. | This was a warning against the Canaanite deviation of homosexuality. Today, Sodomy is touted as a lifestyle issue when it is in fact a SIN issue. |
I Kings 15:11,12 | "And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father. And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made." | Here we see that Asa's removal of homosexuals from the land was "right in the eyes of the Lord'." Defenders of homosexuality are servants of the devil! Unrepentant homosexuals should not be allowed to dwell among us. Our tolerance of them will invoke the wrath of God upon our nation because of THEIR sin and OUR tolerance of it! |
II Kings 23:7 | "And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove." | Here we see that during the revival in Israel under King Josiah that Josiah -"...brake down the houses of the sodomites...'. |
God's word says of homosexuals three times in Romans chapter one that God "gave them up". God rained fire and brimstone upon Sodom and Gomorrah for their wickedness in this regard. Sodom met destruction because of sodomy. God will destroy America just as surely as he destroyed Sodom for the same vile sin of sodomy! God will likewise punish anyone who speaks tolerance of such conduct!
I am NOT in any form advocating violence against homosexuals but I am calling upon them to repent of their SIN and turn from it! If you are a Homosexual and are reading this I want you to know that God's word says that you will go to hell, unless you repent of your sins (and God says sodomy IS a SIN) and believe the gospel. Your sexual sins must be confessed and forsaken. You must receive Christ as your Lord and Saviour by faith. Like all men your fate will remain at issue until brought to complete submission to Christ, and renewed by the power of God.
