WHAT ON EARTH AM I HERE FOR?
by Ronnie Mutina
Have you ever asked that question before? I have asked it a lot. I found the answer in the Bible. Paul said, in Philippians 2:13, "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do HIS good pleasure." HE created you for a purpose. Rick Warren wrote, YOU ARE NOT AN ACCIDENT! Even before the universe was created, God had you in mind, and he planned you for his purposes. These purposes will extend far beyond the few years you will spend on earth. You were made to last forever! Self- help books often suffest that you try to discover the meaning and purpose of your life by looking within yourself, but that is the wrong place to start. You must begin with God , your Creator, and his reasons for creating you. You were made by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense. Proverbs 11:28 tells us, "He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch." Jeremiah 17:7 - 8 tells us, "Blessed (Happy) is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green: and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." The key to a happy life is - SEEK GOD; FIND GOD; AND THEN LIVE FOR GOD."Jesus, at the ending of the "Sermon on the Mount," in the book of Matthew said, "Ask, and it shall be given you ; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh recieveth: and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matt. 7:7 - 8.
When we depend on ourselves, we fail many times over. When we put confindence in man, he fails. This is why the Psalmist wrote, "In is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." Psalm 118:8. The Lord never leaves nor forsakes His own, but man will always fail, when he depends on himself or other men. Lord Bless You throughout your day.
